Truck Helps on 33 Box

November 13th, 2010

Truck 28 responded to IBM Distribution Center (Kost Rd) in New Kingstown for a report of smoke in the building. Chief 33 went on scene confirming that the building was filling with smoke. Once on scene, part of the truck’s crew went to the roof and along with Truck 45’s crew opened the roof hatches to help clear the smoke from inside. The rest of the truck’s crew helped the interior crews do a thorough investigation. The smoke originated from a malfunctioning air compressor in the main area of the building. Units were on scene for 2 1/2 hours before returning available.
