Fire Prevention kicks off the week!

Today, the Washies headed over to Elmwood Elementary School to kick off this years Fire Prevention activites. The crews headed over in Engine 1, the Rescue and Truck. A total of 224 students in grades 1-3 listened and hopefully took home the information provided to their families and friends.

While about to give a tour to the second to last group, the pagers were activated for a automatic fire alarm on North Market Street in the 28-11 box. All 3 units quickly responded and were canceled enroute by Borough Fire Chief Seagrist (Chief 8). The crews returned to finish up the remainder of the classes.

Later in the evening, the department participated in the annual Mechanicsburg Halloween Parade. The apparatus provided lighting to several floats, marching units and groups.

Tomorrow continues our activities to another local school in the Borough.
